About this rug
Spain has one of Europe's oldest carpet traditions, shaped by centuries of Andalusian and Moorish design. This rug from Granada, woven between 1925 and 1950, has a thick, sculptural wool pile in honey, sand and chocolate brown, with a bold repeating pattern of stylised palmettes and an interlaced border. It brings warmth and a quiet Mediterranean character to any room, a beautiful counterpoint to the finer Persian weaves.
