About this rug
Signed in the weave by the Hosseini workshop of Kashan, this room-size carpet pairs an ivory field with a crown of blue and coral rosettes at its centre. Scrolling vines and palmettes fill the field in muted rose, sage and slate blue, and a wide sand-coloured border frames the composition with arabesque cartouches. The quiet, washed palette gives it the presence of a collector's piece with the ease of a carpet meant to be lived on.
