About this rug

Bijar rugs are known as the 'iron rugs of Persia' for their dense, heavily packed weave. This fine example, in wool with silk highlights on a silk foundation, has a raspberry-red field covered in an all-over pattern of palmettes and blossoms, framed by a deep navy border of floral cartouches between ivory guard stripes. A durable, elegant carpet for a living or dining room.
