Rare Vintage Blue Kashan
Kashan rugs, originating from Central Persia, are celebrated for their rich textile heritage and masterful hand-knotting traditions. These classic rugs are crafted by artisans from more than 80 surrounding villages. During the Safavid dynasty (1502–1736), Kashan produced some of the finest rugs in history, including the renowned Ardabil rug—now housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. After a period of decline, the region experienced a revival in the late 19th century, once again gaining global acclaim for its exceptional craftsmanship.
This particular rug features an elegant all-over floral pattern, intricately woven with remarkable attention to detail. Its serene blue, vegetable-dyed color is both calming and visually captivating, enhanced by a gentle sheen and a luxuriously soft texture. In very good condition, it retains a full pile throughout. The borders display slight curvature, and the fringes have thinned somewhat, but overall the rug remains in excellent shape. Clean and floor-ready, it is a timeless piece that will bring beauty and character to any space.
