ANTIQUE PERSIAN SENNEH CIRCA EARLY 19 CENTURY
Rare Senneh rugs like this one are prized for their high-quality wool, superb softness, lightweight, and detailed artistry. This antique rug was woven in the province of Kurdistan in western Persia in the early 1900s. It has an unusual all-over pattern motif and is dyed with all-natural blues, reds, and oranges. The ends of this finely woven antique piece are finished with a Kilim weave (flat weave), providing a unique beauty.
Overall good to very good condition. Extremely soft wool, natural colour fade at one end, fringes thinned out on both ends; the pile is in plush and full. The rug is clean and ready for use.
